Lraedesign Bow Tutorials

I get lots of questions on how I make my bows so I thought I would put a blog post together that has two of my favorite go to bow tutorials.

The first bow that I will be sharing with you is my fluffy bow. You can follow the think below to watch my tutorial. I like to use this bow on bigger projects like porch signs or wreaths.

The next bow that I use quite often is my crisscross bow! This bow is super quick and easy! I promise, even if you think your not a very good bow maker, you will be able to do this one! This is my go to bow for smaller projects. You can also adjust the size of this bow simply by adjusting the lengths of your ribbons or by adding additional pieces of ribbon to the base of the bow.

DIY “Ho Ho Ho” Christmas Sign

You will need:

-board of choice-I found mine at Hobby Lobby

-letters to spell “ho ho ho”-I got mine at Hobby Lobby

-Apple Barrel paint-I used “Tuscan Red” and “Christmas Green”

-Embellishments of choice-I found the truck I used at Hobby Lobby

-Ribbon if a bow is desired

-E6000

The first thing I did was paint all of the “H” letters with my “Tuscan Red” color and all of the “O” letters with my “Christmas Green” color. Any paint will work for this.

Once my letters were dry I used E6000 and hot glue to secure them down. If you don’t plan on using your sign outside then you would be fine just using the hot glue, however, if you plan to use your sign outside, you will want to use the E6000 to adhere your letters. The reason for me using both is so that the hot glue will secure the letters down while the E6000 cures as it takes up to 24 hours to fully cure.

Once I had my letters and my truck glued down I moved on to the bow. You can watch my bow tutorial HERE or you can follow the pictures below to make it also.

Once I had my bow made I stapled it to my sign! If your not a bow maker or just don’t want to take the time to make one you could certainly just buy one to use. They have some super cute ones at the store for sure!

And just like that you have an adorable Christmas sign you can use outdoors as porch decor or indoors for wall decor.

Mini Scrap Wood Scarecrow

You will need:

*Piece of scrap wood-I used a small piece of a 2×4

*Burlap

*Jute twine

*Paint-whichever colors you prefer

*Paintbrushes

*Glue Gun-Here’s my affiliate link for the cordless glue gun I use.

The first thing I did was wrap my burlap around the top half of my board for the hat. I did fold the bottom inch or so over to make a brim for the hat.

Once I had the hat glued on I took a piece of jute twine and tied a little bow on the top of the hat to bunch it together.

Now, it’s time for the paint! I like to use smaller paint brushes for this. I started with the eyes and worked my way down the face. I used a round spouncer for the rosy cheeks but if you don’t have one you can certainly just use a paint brush to make them.

Once I had my face painted on, I then made a little raffia bow to stick on the brim of the hat.

DIY Terracotta Pot Candy Jar

Supplies I used:
*Small terracotta pot with base
*Glass globe-Dollar Tree
*Wooden ball knob
*Acrylic paint- I used tahiti blue and cranberry for my colors
*Paint brush
*Spouncer
*E6000-Click here for affiliate link
*Ribbon and twine

I started out by painting my terracotta pot and the base with my teal color. Once those had dried, I then took my small spouncer to add polka dots to my pot. I also used this same color to paint by knob.

Next, I used E6000 to adhere my knob to the top of the base of the pot and also my glass globe to the bottom side of my pot. Remember that E6000 takes a minimum of 24 hours to fully cure.

Next, I took some buffalo check ribbon and some jute twine and wrapped them around the jar to make a cute little bow. Now, this would be super cute if you painted/decorated your candy jar using certain holiday colors/themes but I wanted one that I could use year round so that’s why I chose not to this time. This would also be a fun project to do with your kiddos!

DIY Farmhouse Riser

Supplies:

*1 3/4 Inch Ball Knobs(Hobby Lobby)

*12 Inch Round Panel(I got mine from Menards)

*White Paint

*Paint Brush

*Sand Paper or Sanding Block

*Hot Glue Gun-affiliate link for cordless glue gun I use in my live videos.

This project is seriously so easy I can’t believe I am just now doing it! There are only three steps to this cute little project and anyone can do this.

The first step is to paint your round board and your wooden ball knobs with any paint you prefer. I used a white acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby but seriously any paint will work for this.

Next once everything was dry I took a sanding block and distressed my piece of wood. The amount of distressing will depend on your taste. I like to make mine noticeably distressed as I prefer the more aged farmhouse look.

The last step is to simply glue on your feet(knobs) to the bottom of your riser. I used 4 knobs for mine and it works perfectly. You could also use E6000 to adhere your feet to your riser but I didn’t have any on hand so just used hot glue instead and that worked just fine.

I am so excited to decorate my new riser for the different holidays! What do you all think? Super cute, affordable, and soo easy to do! Just the way I like it!

Reverse Canvas Valentine’s Decor

This project was so fun to make so I knew I had to do a blog post on it! I did this project live on my Facebook page so I attached the video below!

-11×14 canvas

-scissors

-Valentines gift bag(mine came from Dollar Tree)

-paint of choice

-paint brush

-hot glue gun

-assorted ribbon(optional)

-raffia(optional)
