Wood Flower Bouquet Decor

Hello friends! I was at Target awhile back and found these wooden floral stems and this surface both in the “Dollar Spot” or “Bullseyes Playground.” I knew right away that these would make a cute project!

For this project, you will need:

*Surface of choice-mine is from Target

*Wood flower stems-Target

*Hot glue gun/gorilla glue

*Ribbon of choice for bow if desired

I prefer to use this along with hot glue when doing these type of projects. The hot glue is obviously going to be the quickest, and the gorilla glue is for longevity. You can also use E6000 in place of the gorilla glue.

First, I laid my flowers out and arranged them the way I wanted and then I used my hot glue and just a dab of the gorilla glue to adhere them to my surface. Just a heads up…the gorilla glue does expand as it dries so just a dab with do the job!

I have the light pink floral stem left and decided I wanted to put that right in the center of the bouquet. I simply broke the stem off so it wouldn’t hang over the edge and then glued it right on top of the dark pink flower’s stem.

Now it’s time for a bow of course! This is my go to ribbon for lots of projects. You can find this at Hobby Lobby.

For the bow, I took my ribbon and rolled it end over end 5-6 times. The length of my ribbon stack was approximately 6 inches. I then tied it in the center with jute twine and the “fluffed” my bow.

How stinkin’ cute! I added a cute little button to finish off the bow.

I love projects like this! Cute, budget friendly, and easy!!! I hope this inspires you to get crafty and give this a try!

South Dakota Blizzard of 2022 “Elliot”

Hello, friends! I have decided to write a blog post all about our big South Dakota blizzard of 2022 to help put it into perspective for those of you unfamiliar with our area. Although the blizzard shut the entire state down for days, there was also some amazing beauty that came from it. They have nicknamed this storm “Elliott”.

I have gathered several pictures from throughout the western and central areas of the state. Snowfall totals ranged anywhere from 6-36 inches along the plains into the central part of the state.

No words needed!
This picture was taken at a local truck stop during the storm.
This was one of the many cars buried during the blizzard. It took several days for everyone to get dug out.
South Dakota beauty!
Best little helper around!
This was outside my parents downstairs door.
Winds blew up to 60 mph and the windchill got down to -40 to -60 below. Frigid and dangerous for all!
The toll it took on the livestock was absolutely heartbreaking. Many herds were driven miles away from their homes due to the wind and drifting snow. After the storm finally ended, days later, local farmers and ranchers helped one another locate their livestock.
My hometown’s water tower!

And of course we can’t leave out a picture of our newest member of the family, Oakes!
South Dakota State Capital…beautiful!

Holiday Pretzel Turtles

You will need:

*Bag of holiday pretzels

*Rolos

*Whole pecans

These holiday treats are so easy to make and only take THREE INGREDIENTS! That’s my type of recipe!

Step 1: Line your baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and then lay your pretzels down.

Step 2: Place a rolo on top of each pretzel. Bake at 250 degrees for 3 min or until softened.

Step 3: Place a pecan on top of the rolo and gently push down.

I hope your loved ones will enjoy these as much as we do! Happy Holidays!

DIY Fall Sign

You will need:

*Surface of choice- click here for the link for the one I used from Chalk Couture

*Waverly “pink sky” chalk paint

*painter’s tape

*ribbon, raffia, or any embellishments you want to use

*Glue gun-click here for my affiliate link for one like the one I use

For this project I simply gathered a few ribbons that matched the color pallet I am using for Fall this year along with some raffia. Use whatever you have laying around and I can guarantee it will turn out just as cute!

The first thing I did was use painter’s tape to tape off my frame. I then used my “pink sky” waverly chalk paint and painted the inside of the frame. I did two coats.

Next, I layered my mustard colored ribbon on top of some burlap to create the “F”. Both of these ribbons came from Hobby Lobby.

For the “A”, I used this cute button ribbon trim that is also from Hobby Lobby.

For the first “L” I did the same thing that I did for the “F” layering a navy ribbon on top of the burlap. For the second “L” I used raffia. I love the look of this!

As if this isn’t already cute just the way it is…but you know me! Bow time!

I used this cute pick that I found at Hobby Lobby along with a cute lace bow that I tied up and added it to the top of the frame. To finish it off I added a little navy button. What do you think?
