*White paint-any kind will work
*Bristle paint brush
*Faux succulents
*Sanding block
*Floral Foam
I absolutely love succulent,s but sometimes it’s just easier to use faux succulents for decorating instead of the live ones. I found this cute little terracotta pot on clearance at Hobby Lobby for just a few dollars and instantly new what I was going to do with it.
The first thing I did was take a bristle brush and paint my pot white. Any kind of paint will work for this. I didn’t want my pot to be solid white so I just lightly brushed the paint on. Once my paint had dried, I took my sanding block and distressed it a bit.

Next, I took my floral foam and cut approximately 1/2 inch off so it would fit in my pot.

Once I had my foam in my pot I started sticking in my faux succulent picks. I found these ones at Hobby Lobby but you can find them at several other stores also. I like to start out by putting a taller pick in the middle and then add in the shorter ones to fill in the gaps.

So, what do you think? I think it turned out awesome! The even better part is that it only cost around $10. Creating your own home decor doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg! I hope this inspires you to have some fun and create one of your own!
