Dollar Tree Fall Leaf Makeover

You all know how I like to makeover my Dollar Tree finds so here’s another one for ya! I found this leaf cut-out and I instantly had ideas for it! If you see one of these cut-outs be sure to snatch it up!

Supplies you will need:

*Leaf cut-out

*Walnut gel stain

*White paint

*Blessed word cut-out, I got mine in a pack from Hobby Lobby

*Merlot Waverly chalk paint

*Paint brush

*Jute twine

*Raffia-optional for bow

*Glue gun-click here for my affiliate link to my glue gun.

The first step is to stain your leaf. I used a paper towel and rubbed a light coat all over.

Next, I used my waverly brush and dabbed it with just a tiny amount of white paint and lightly brushed that over my stained leaf. The lighter you want your leaf the more times you will repeat this step.

Next, I used my Merlot colored paint to paint my “blessed” word.

Once that dried, I used my E6000 spray adhesive to glue my word down. You can get this spray with my affiliate link HERE! If you haven’t tried this yet, it is a game changer!

To finish my leaf, I wrapped the stem with jute twine, added a cute little raffia bow, and glued a piece of twine on the back for a hanger! Easy enough, right? I can’t get over how cute this turned out! I’m gonna chalk this up as another Dollar Tree win!

Dollar Tree Truck Makeover

Supplies:

*Red truck from Dollar Tree

*Christmas pick

*Paint-I used Waverly chalk paint “Celery”, Apple Barrel “Tuscan Red”, “Black”, and “Pewter Gray”.

*Embellishments of your choice

Now, don’t get me wrong, this little truck is cute as it is but just wait until you see it after I get done with it!

To start off I removed the tree from the back of the truck. Next, I painted the body of the truck with my “tuscan red” paint.

Next, I painted my tires with my black paint and the fenders with my “celery” paint.

Once those were dry, I took my gray and added some highlight color to the tires. I also, took my “celery” color and added some highlights to the body of the truck.

Next, I added a little mini ornament embellishment on the door of the truck. I found these in the Christmas section at Wal-mart.

To finish off the truck, I used a Christmas pick to replace the tree that was in the back of the truck. I found my pick at Wal-mart. I simply cut down the stem and hot glued the top of the pick to the back of the truck.

Well, what do you think? Quite the transformation, right? I just love how it turned out!
